What happens on a dairy farm when feed is not pushed on time? For many farmers, the answer is familiar: rumen diseases, low milk production, spoiled feed, etc. What's more, late-night routines become harder to maintain, feed access becomes uneven, cows stop eating consistently. And over time, herd health is often the first thing to suffer, followed quietly by milk yield. This is a challenge that Jan Stendahl, Sveaverken’s Site Manager in Sweden office, encounters often through his close work with dairy farmers. Earlier in mid-July 2025, it led to an important milestone: the installation of Sweden’s first Nimbo X feed pusher on a dairy farm outside Osby, in northern Skåne.
Life before and after Nimbo X
The farm is run by Svante Ralsgård and his wife Hanna, who have been producing milk for nearly ten years. Before Nimbo X, feeding was one of their biggest daily challenges. Svante and Hanna pushed feed manually, trying to fit it in between milking and all the other work on the farm. During the night, it was especially difficult. Feed was not always pushed when it should have been, and cows did not eat as evenly as intended.
Over time, this began to affect the herd. Some cows started losing condition, and the farm’s health monitoring system triggered more frequent alerts. Svante suspected that inconsistent feed access was affecting rumen function and overall cow health.

After installing Nimbo X, the change was noticeable.
“Since we installed Nimbo X, the health of the cows has improved,” Svante says. “We have a health measurement system, and we have seen that the number of alerts has decreased drastically.”
With feed now pushed automatically throughout the day and night, cows have more consistent access to feed. They eat more evenly, regain condition, and appear calmer and healthier. This stability quickly translated into performance:
“Milk production has increased in correlation with the feed pusher. We simply get more feed into them.”
For Svante and Hanna, Nimbo X did more than automate feed pushing. It removed daily uncertainty around feeding, improved herd health, and freed up time and mental energy in an already demanding routine.

Nimbo X: Simple installation, reliable performance, local support
Svante Ralsgård chose Nimbo X mainly because it could be installed quickly and without making permanent changes to the barn.
With 3D LiDAR navigation, Nimbo X follows the feed alley digitally and adapts easily to the current layout. Installation took only a few hours, and since mid-July, the robot has been running steadily without interruptions. Maintenance has also stayed simple. Apart from cleaning the LiDAR sensor once a week, there is very little daily upkeep. Feed is pushed exactly when it should be, day and night, without Svante and Hanna needing to think about it.
Throughout the installation and startup, Jan Stendahl was on site to make sure everything worked as intended. That local presence made the transition smooth and gave the farm confidence from the very beginning.

A proven solution, already delivering results
This first Nimbo X installation in Sweden shows what consistent feeding can achieve when automation fits real farm routines. Consistent access to feed has led to healthier cows, fewer health alerts, and more stable milk production. At the same time, daily pressure on the people running the farm has been reduced.
